Our Growth Story
Grassroots Power, Growing Impact
April 2020: The Sandwich Project launches in response to pandemic-driven food insecurity.
October 2021: 250,000 sandwiches delivered milestone.
February 2022: 320,000 sandwiches distributed.
March 2022: 428,000 sandwiches reached.
July 2023: 1 million sandwiches milestone.
2024–2025: 2 million sandwiches delivered, with reach expanding to Decatur, Smyrna, Lawrenceville, and downtown Atlanta.
What began as a handful of neighbors making sandwiches in their home kitchens is still a grassroots effort—now multiplied by thousands of volunteers, all working together to feed our community every week.

How We Make a Difference

The Sandwich Project brings together families, neighbors, faith groups, and community partners to fight hunger—one sandwich at a time. Volunteers make sandwiches in their own homes and drop them off at our network of collection sites each week. Our dedicated team then delivers these fresh sandwiches to over 70 outreach organizations, shelters, and food pantries across Metro Atlanta.
